Getting started
Authentication
To access the platform, users must log in with their SWITCH edu-ID account, previously configured with two-factor authentication (2FA). Follow the steps to log in with your institutional credentials.
When logging in for the first time, you will see the SPSP welcome window. Click on Get started.
Requesting ownership of a group
Click on if you are a Group Head to claim ownership of a Group. The request will be reviewed by the SPSP Support Team and you will be notified once you can access the SPSP Private Portal as Group Head.
Joining a Group
If you are a Group member, proceed to request joining a Group. Note that only groups with a registered Group Head will appear in the list. If you do not see your Group in the list, please ask your Group Head to first join the SPSP Private Portal.
Your request to access SPSP will be pending until your Group Head validates it. You will not be able to view any data on the SPSP Private Portal until your request has been approved. You will be notified by email once you can access SPSP.
Main dashboard
The dashboard is your central workspace. From here, you can:
- Go to the Outbreaks view, to see a list of current outbreaks and get detailed information
- View data submitted by all SPSP Groups.
- Access your personal saved Views, matching your queries of interest.
- Access your notifications center.
- If your Group submits samples to SPSP, you will also see the “My samples” panel, to follow-up the status of all your samples:
- Warnings: samples that have any warning
- Loaded: samples that have been correctly loaded into the SPSP database
- Processing: samples that are undergoing bioinformatics analysis
- Processed: samples that have been processed, filtered by status
- Public: samples for which minimal data and metadata has been publicly released (e.g. on the ENA or on GISAID)
- Exports: the list of your exports.
