Sequencing purpose
The sequencing purposes used by the Federal Authorities are detailed below.
Please only use these sequencing purpose in agreement with the Federal Authorities. Please contact the SPSP Support team in case of questions.

| SURVEILLANCE_FOPH_OBLIG | Sequencing mandated through the FDHA Ordinance on the reporting of observations of communicable diseases in humans (SR 818.101.126), e.g. by forwarding samples for pathogens to designated reference centers. | |
| SURVEILLANCE_FOPH_SENTINEL | Sequencing performed on samples from routine ARI testing in the Sentinella surveillance system. Main source for genomic surveillance of respiratory viruses from 09.2024. | Replaces current tag SENTINEL |
| SURVEILLANCE_FOPH_HOSP | Sequencing performed on samples obtained through the network of collaborating hospitals set up for surveillance of SARS-CoV-2. From 09.2024 used only for batch completion of Sentinella samples. | Replaces SURVEILLANCE_HOSP, for better distinction from HOSP_MONITORING (below). |
