Surveillance of respiratory viruses

Since the Summer 2024, SPSP centralises, curates, analyses, annotates and shares the SARS-CoV-2, Influenza and RSV genomic data from the national surveillance program on respiratory viruses, funded by the Federal Office of Public Health and led by the CRIVE.

Several laboratories submit data to SPSP:

– University Hospitals of Geneva – Laboratory of Virology and Swiss National Reference Centre for Influenza
– University Hospital of Lausanne – Institute of Microbiology
– University of Bern – Institute for Infectious Diseases
– University Hospital of Basel – Institute of Clinical Virology
– University of Zurich – Institute of Medical Virology

The isolates are sequenced at the H2030 Genome Center.
